Hash generator

Create deterministic digests for checking content integrity. General-purpose hashes are not a password-storage scheme.

How to use Hash generatorSteps, privacy & next steps

Calculate a deterministic digest from exact local content.

Run this check

  1. Paste text or choose a local file.
  2. Use SHA-256 or stronger for a new integrity use; select a legacy checksum only for an existing compatibility requirement.
  3. Compare the generated digest against a value from an independently trusted source.

What you need

  • Exact UTF-8 text or local file bytes, with no normalization.

Your input & privacy

Content is hashed in browser memory and is not uploaded. Export only results you intend to share.

Read the result

Use the hex digest to compare exact bytes. Use the SRI tool for a browser integrity attribute and a password-specific algorithm for stored passwords.

Keep in mind

  • MD5 and SHA-1 have collision weaknesses and are labeled for legacy, non-security checksums only.
  • A digest is not encryption, a trust decision or a password-storage scheme.

Your inputs, explained.

JWTs, source snippets, passwords, CSP text, files, hashes and Base64 are processed in browser memory. This toolkit does not upload or save those inputs.

Website checks send the approved URL to this service and contact the target. DNS checks disclose the domain to Cloudflare DNS over HTTPS. Email-breach checks send the full address to Have I Been Pwned when configured and explicitly requested.

Server checks are transient and rate limited. This application does not write tool input or result logs; your hosting provider and contacted services may retain network metadata under their own policies. Exports are saved only when you choose to download them.

Use tools only for assets you own or have permission to assess. Private scans and their saved reports use the separate authenticated VulnBeacon application.
